What size are the glass jars you find on the Farmall's for the pre-cleaner. Are they still around. They look like a pint and a half wide mouth. What do you guys know about these.
Thanks Steve

I have the square wide mouth jars on my tractors. My wife bought some Harry & Davids salsa it comes in these great little jars. I have a whole cabinet full now, and the plus is I get to eat some great salsa also.

54082D is a 1 pint, 61178D a 1/2 pint. These are original Ball type jars, available from Pilot Knob Restorations at $27!! each.

The Hs and Ms used the one pint wide mouth, the smaller As, Bs, and Cs used a half pint. Any jar which will thread into the air cleaner will work, but if you want an original appearing jar, it has to be a square jar. Also, the original jars were manufactured by the Ball company, and will say Ball special widemouth, emphasis on the special. These jars will sell for upwards of $20.00, if you can find one. Other brands of jars are okay to use, but you shouldn't have to pay over $5.00 for one of these.
Apparently, the square shaped jars are no longer being manufactured.

I have never seen a square one, the parts books only show round, must have been on pre 1947 tractors, as the 47 H my Dad bought new had a round one.

the H and M used a half-pint wide mouth. the smaller tractors used the standard lid jar. no reason a pint wide mouth wouldn't work if you had room above the hood. You can still buy new wide-mouth half-pints but they are a tapered jar. about 12$ a dozen in the store.
