I looked at a 1206 today and it only had 1000 rpm pto. Was that a option? Anyways not too bad of a looking tractor needs paint but tin work is staight. I went to start it and it turned over quite a while before it started. The motor sounded real good. Im not sure if the torque is good or not because the lever is missing so its probably bad. Everything else works fine. Not sure on actual hours. Tires are about 75 percent. He wants $3000.00 for it. Does any of you think it would be worth it? Sounds like a fair price to me but wanted some opinions. Thanks for any replies in advance.

Sounds like a steal. Change fuel & air filters and it will likely start quicker.

I paided 6,500.00 twelve years ago for mine. They came out only with 1000 pto but you can change it to 540/1000 shaft like a 706,806. They all fit the same from a 706 thru 1486. If the TA is still in it,they might have it blocked or it don't work on the low side if the leaver has been removed. If the motor is in good shape, it should start easy with out cranking on it.I myself would give 3,000.00. They are a hell of a tractor!

I remember my dad pulling the torque lever off - his theory was that us kids couldn't ruin it if we couldn't use it. Our 1206 was turned up to about 150 hp, pulled the same equipment our 1466 & 1486 pulled. Only problem is the transmission will not stand up to that kind of use over a long period of time.

Its been over 20 years since I've run one and those tractors are now aproaching 40 years of use. I'd look it over very carefully. The price is somewhat in line for what you described.
