Hydraulic cylinder for front of fast hitch

I have been looking for a cylinder for the front of the fast hitch on our Farmall 300. This cylinder will tilt the fast hitch on the tractor which is very useful when plowing with a mounted fast hitch plow. I think the cylinder measures 2-1/2" x 8". Both of the hydraulic connections are on the one end of the cylinder. Correct me if I am wrong on these particulars. I haven't had much luck finding one and if anyone would have one or could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thanks for any help.

I just used a off the shelf 8 incher from Fleet Farm. Not sure if its 2 and a half inch or not. Just cost 45 bucks. I had to make a bracket and buy a new pin for the cylinder as I lost mine.
Just got done plowing 6 acres with a fast hitch plow and it worked great!!
I will wait till I find a bracket in a pile some where as they want $75 for a used one. My 5 dollar one will do till then.

Most of the old time IH dealers should have a few. It's the kind of thing that doesn't take up much space and is worth storing in the attic or shed. I bought two from Bates Corporation about 10 years ago. Look through Red Power Magazine for the dealers.

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but doesn't the SC fast hitch use the 2.5" x 8" cylinder? Apart from a Cub, I have never owned anything smaller than a H.

It would seem to me that anyone who plowed with a 300-400 fast hitch would have needed one. Yet you hardly ever see them in place at tractor shows. They were easy to remove and then pin the front of the hitch solid. There are probably quite a few stored in barns. You could create an eBay search that will email you when one is listed.

We left ours in place on the 400 until the cultivator was installed in spring. That cylinder also operated the R/H fwd cultivator lift.

You're right, Super C does use the 2 1/2 X 8 cylinder.
