I have a 1973 IH 966. I have installed a IH 2350 loader on the 966 and now I want to add a joystick control for it. Is there any way to hook this up and not use one of my remote outlets and have to tie my control lever down. Is there any place on the 966 to hook into for hyd. pressure and a return. Thanks , Jeff

Well guys, I'm getting no where fast. I called two dealers in my area (West TN.) and no luck . One has no idea of the block to go on the valve and the other says that will only work on a 86 series tractor. I called Bates Corp. in Indiana and they said I have to change my current valve which they say is closed center to a open center valve they have to sell for $400.00 (rebuilt), then I need a power beyond valve they sell for $350.00 so *WOW* thats expensive. Any ideas that will help? Thanks Jeff Davis <><

J.D. The 06's and maybe some 56's had an end plate on the valve stack, and all one had to do was remove it and add the power beyond and the hoses. Later I don't remember when the left valve had end plate bilt into it so had to replace the left valve with one with no end plate built into it, that is why you may not find one for your 966 not many kits made. Having said that if one hnow what holes to drill out on that left valve he could port it and just add hoses to you new jot stick. I believe some one sad on a followup about open center and closed center, all IHC's had open center untill maybe the late 86's with the piston pump, I am not sure about the late 86's the older had open center or this power beyond would not be so easy. If you drilled the end valve make sure you do the right holes.

Aces is right about the plate. Unfortunately, I am not aware of an aftermarket source for the adapter plate. You will have to go to your Case-IH dealer and it will get quite spendy. The plate is well over $100. It looks like it cost them about $10 to make. You take the plate off of your existing control valves and bolt the new plate in. Then screw a hose into the port on the new plate and run it to your add-on control valve "in" port. Then you will need to run another hose from the "out" port back to your reservoir. You can run the return oil just about anywhere you can find an opening to put it back into the tranny.

J D yes they made a power beyond block to go on the valve stack then all valve work independently.
