I have a 300 I am restoring. The lights on it do not look like those on my "M".

Just wondering if someone has replaced the lights with aftermarket lights.

The lights on my "M" are teardrop metal. The ones on my 300 are more flat on the back.

I'm selling the "M" so I want to switch the lights out and keep the correct ones for my 300.

Any help would me much appreciated.

The flat backs are correct for the 300. IH started using them in about 1952 on the Super's. Before then, they would have had tear drop lights, like your M.

Nope, no one switched lights. Your 300 had flat backed ones, 6V sealed beams if my memory serves me right, just like the later model Super C's, Super H's & Super M's. If its still 6V, replacement bulbs w/single post are hard to find. Had to use 2-terminal ones on my Super C & they were aove $6.00 each about 4 years ago. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)

OEM Tractor Part manufactures an excellent repro sealed beam bulb for the flat back lights. They are available in 6V and 12V. Can't recall the price but they are worth the money.
