i asked this question before but was off work for a while and can't find it. anyway i found a couple of farmell h models one with a loader for 1200 and the other with a 2 point hitch for 900. was wondering what these are worth in good condition and if they would be a good tractor to actually use. also can you still get parts for them?
thanks again

Dave, If both of these tractors are in good running condition, then the price is not out of line for either. What they are really worth is what you feel comfortable paying. As far as parts availability, O.E.M., new, and used parts for an H is probably the the easiest and in the most abundant supply of any antique tractor. I have yet to come across a part that I couldn't find with a little effort. The H is also a very versitle tractor and can be used for many things. When they were first introduced in 1939, Many farmers began using them as their only tractor on farms averaging 100 acres. Many farmers are still using them for a lot of the chores they were initially capable of performing.

Dave,

Tommy K here from South Carolina. I just bought a 1940 H here and paid $800 for it. It might have been a little much, but there was kind of a sad story to it that I won't go into. It is a gasoline/distilate type and has electric start and a Lift-All system. Its all there, sheet metal is good and has had some recent engine work done to it but it is kinda rough. I really just bought this one because it fit what I had to spend. Like Paul said, I think its worth what you can pay for it but I'm very new to this hobby. I posted a pic of it and my D6 in the photo section.

Tommy
