Hi guys, I was catching up and noticed a couple of you asked about my strom damage. We have everything cleaned up, the steel trucked away, the buiding materials burned and all tidied up. The barn has new rafters in place and straped, the steel goes on on Monday. I have to get the foundations from my two sheds bulldozed and hauled. The builder doing the barn roof is working on figures for a 40'x80' shed. The tractor saga continues. I went in to Vincent's(Case-I-H) to see how they were coming. A new hood arrived for the 584 all smashed in and scratched in transit($1400) so they reordered another...a few more days hold up. The tractor repairs are going to top $5000, the house roof was $3800, the barn roof $12,200 and another $2000 for eave troughs and some missing boards. The new shed is going to run around$27,000 so my damages are likely to go over $50,000 by the time the other small repairs are made to various pieces of equipment. I will be out the cost of bulldozing and removing the old foundations, probably another $2000 or so. The cows are calving and I had one yesterday and another this morning..things are slowly returning to normal, the new shed could be started as early as next week and that would sure be great to have a work place and everyhting inside. I don't wish a storm on anyone and you really don't know what it does to a person until you have had it happen to you..anyway thanks CNKS and Wade for asking and all of you, my internet friends who gave me your moral support.....Mike in Exeter Ontario

Michael, those of us in Northern Alabama share your loss as we live in a virtual tornado belt ourselves. After the loss it seems like we just pick up whats left and go on from there. Through all your loss it seems like God has presented you with new births. My most sincere compliments to you on your getting all things back together again. We could all learn from your experiences.

I haven't been on here in quite a while and then to find this out. Sounds like you have things under control. Hope things continue to go well for you.

Michael: Good to hear from you. sounds like you are getting things under control. Sorry I never made it up your way. I picked up this cold that has been floating around Western Middlesex County. That one has kind of kept me hemmed down to what I absolutely have to do. I went to the Doc on Tues., he prescribed an antibiotic, I guess it's working, although I don't feel much better.

We had a twister floating around here on Thurs. I watched it from the truck while it was in front of me. Apparently it touched down about 5 miles north of Strathroy in an uninhabited area. Tore up a few trees but not much else. Probably caused more disturbance on the CB radio than anything else. I was alerted to it shortly after leaving London on the 402. I was able to watch it forming most of the way to Strathroy, it would cone up then loose its shape again. Did that several times. I lost sight of it as I passed Strathroy exits, it was behind me by then. By the time I reached the Kerrwood Rd. , I heard on CB it had indeed touched down.

Hi Mike, glad to hear that everything is moving along quite nicely for you and your family after the disaster. At times like these it can be very discouraging, time and the insurance can get everything back to normal. You were fortunate there was not any personal injuries or loss of livestock. We wish you the BEST OF LUCK from N.S.
Cheers, Murray
