I have recently purchased a older IH sicklebar mower. It is one that bolts to the drawbar And I am having trouble trying to inentify wich model it is. I went to get a new sickle the other day and was un able to find one the same size. I had to buy a 7 ft sickle then cut it down to 6 ft 4 in
the store i bought it at said the could not find a sickle that size. Other people had said they thought it may be a #29 , #33 or I want to know so I can restore it.

Hi,my dad had one like that for the SC in the 1950s. It was a 6 ft. cut. Still have the long crank wrench to tighten the bolts on the axle mounts.

That looks like it might be a C-24. The lift linkage looks to me like the design that hooks to the Touch Control.

Actually, that is a HM-24. The short chain hanging from the lifting clevis, and the lifting rod going under the roller just below the QA hookup was used on the HM. Also, the PTO shaft is shorter on the C-24.

6'4"? I don't think so. They were made in 1 foot increments with some 6" increments in the smaller sizes. With sections at 3" each, 6'4" would be difficult.

It could also be a 25V, maybe others.
