I have a 450 LP tractor, and have heard alot about people wanting the LP heads for more power in the gas burners. I was wondering if it would be ok, to just run gas in my LP as is ?

I will need a gas tank, carb, and some sheetmetal, but will it be a wise move ???

This is one of my tractors I may sell or trade later, right now I am just having fun with it, and learning about farmalls.

Thanks for any info

I would keep it factory LP. Just like them better. I have a 350 LP, and they seem as much power as the gasoline 350 we have. They are clean, and otherwise same in use, fluids, hydraulics, etc. But, we are used to LP gas tractors coming out of western Nebr., lot of dryland farms had them ..... . just a thought,

unless the compression is so high that you need to run hi-test. But I don't know why you would want to switch. Propane is much cleaner burning fuel. and cheaper too!

I was going to change it for 2 reasons. 1 being more power, the LP tractors had more compression than gas tractors and should make more power with gas.
2 being we will either be parading or pulling with this tractor and gas is much easier to get when you are out of town. I was just wondering if the timing might need to be changed due to the extra compression, or if the cam was of a different profile etc.

Thanks
