I removed the radiator on my M to get it repaired at the local radiator shop today. The radiator was only held in by two studs going through the main frame of the tractor and had no nuts on them and was not threaded. Is this how they all are or do I need something else? There was no upper radiator support like my 41 H has. Could someone tell me what should be on a 1948 M to hold the radiator in place. I think I am missing something. suspect the vibration of being loose is what cuased the leaks I have. Thanks in advance.

I beleive the radiator should have 2 threaded studs going thru the main frame with springs and castle nuts. There should also be a support rod anchoring it back to the front fuel tank mount.

Yep, that's correct. Castle nuts, with a spring above them. Support rod on top. When I did mine, I didn't put the nuts back on, they were a PITA. I left the studs to keep it from moving around. The radiator doesn't move a bit. It can't hardly with the short hoses and the support rod. Don't forget to put new rubber pads down where the stud bolts are. I used rubber belting that was about 1/4" thick.
