I HAVE A 49 CUB THAT HAS A MAG ON IT, SOMEONE HAS REMOVED THE COIL AND ADDED A EXTERNAL COIL. IT RAN OK WHEN I GOT IT, I REMOVED THE DIST AND REPLACED POINTS AND COND AND SINCE THEN IT WONT START AND SEEMS TO HAVE A VERY WEAK SPARK. I HAVE HAD 4 DIFFERENT COILS, NEW PLUGS AND WIRES, REPLACED POINTS AND COND AGAIN. IT STILL WONT RUN. I NOTICED THERE IS ONLY 2 LOBES ON THE DIST CAM. DO I HAVE AN OPTION SHORT OF GOING BACK TO A MAG??

Check the insulator on the grounding post on the side of the distributor and look carefully at the connections on the inside. It's easy to short out the grounding post. Also, are you sure you have it timed correctly?
