My dad has a SMTA that needs a lot of help. It has the original tires he bought it with in 1972. He said they were already worn back then. Anyway, the rims aren't in any better shape than the tires. It has 13.8x38. I was just wondering where a good place to find that size of rims would be. I haven't looked anywhere, but I just thought I would ask before searching. Also, would anyone know how much one rim or a pair would go for. Thanks for the help. I am in Iowa.

Radcliff Coop has many new rims on hand, will paint your color, and are reasonably priced. Don't have there phone #.

I know of two salvage places in Eastern IA. There's one in Miles. And another in Baldwin. E-mail me if you want more info on those.

The rim size for that tire is 12-38. If you are buying new tires and rims at the same time, you don't have to stay with that size. YOu could go with 14-38 rims and 15.5-38 tires. That combo first appeared on the F450.

Unless you have a preference for a particular brand and lug style, I would probably shop locally and try to get a discount on the large purchase. Everything but the tubes ship by ltl truck freight.
