Hey, I need help from the experts. I want to buy a good small to medium sized tractor for mixer mill, square baler, cultivation, etc. and was wondering what you guys thought was best. (Possibly 656, 666, 756, 766, etc.??) Also, what motor would be best for the particular model you think is best (gas or diesel, and c. i. d.). Thanks in advance.

For small square baling, the larger tractors (756, 766) work better because they have more gears. You don't really need the extra size, but more gears saves that clutch. Other than that, I would agree what has already been said.

I agree with Hugh, you have already narrowed it down to probably the best all around models, definately go with a diesel.

JRT: From the tractor sizes you mention and the work you have indicated they will be doing, you don't need any help on sizing. You have nailed that one. Go diesel all the way, fuel will never be less expensive. If you will be starting in cold weather just have a good block heater.
