I have a 1947 Chevy pickup that has a 6v battery, 12v headlight and radio. I was wondering if anyone knew what kind of transformer or voltage multiplier it takes to do this. My uncle did the 47 in 87 and he has since died - so he ain't tellin' where he got the parts. Thanks!

Here's some sources for 6 Volt to 12 Volt CONVERTERS. It really would be easier and cheaper to put a 12 Volt alternator and battery on the up-truck, and then regulate the 12 Volt battery voltage to operate the original gauges, though!
