CaeIH and New Holland merged to form CNH. Another company aquired the name McCormick and the CNH plant and tooling in England. Check their web sites.

The McCormick-Deering company merged with International Harvestor about 1902. Or the two companies merged (McCormick and Deering) and became International. CaseIH is just bring the name McCormick name back in hopes of better sales.

Not that this has anythign to do with antique tractors, for the Farmall/IH purist, NEITHER is anywhere near the original.

McCormick is not "capitalizing on IH's past history." The McCormick name disappeared from frontline equipment long before the current generation of farmers were old enough to drive a tractor. Sure, the old M has "McCormick" on it, but to anyone you ask, it's an IH or a FARMALL, not a McCormick.

They're selling the tractors for lower prices than the competition. Simple as that.

I believe McCormick was formed while CaseIH was in the process of being bought out by New Holland.

There are thousands of farmers who remember the McCormick name, and the new McCormicks ARE capitilizing on the name. CNH had to sell the rights to the name as part of the CNH merger. The Doncaster plant is using the name for good reason. Many farmers like the McCormicks better than the Case Interationals, although there are some similarities. I don't think there is any question that the name is helping sell the tractors, particularly since the plant was originally an IH plant.

Where are the john deeres selling? Where I live you will see at least 2 if not 3 IH or Case-IH tractors for every john deere. Are the tables turning? Or have the green boys just priced themselves out of business?
