I have a modle 2404 IH and I would like to know the ohm value of the ignition resistor.

If you are using the original coil, it would be a good idea to get the correct resistor from CNH, as there is some variation in ignition ballast resistors, not only in cold resistance, but in temperature coefficient, and the factory replacement should work well with the original coil.

I don't have one right here in front of me, but if I said it was between 1.5 ohms and 1.7 ohms, I bet I'd be pretty darned close.

If I remember correctly, aaaaa old spider webs. The coil with a meter to ground and the + red lead to the coil AFTER the Resistor should show 8 volts. DO NOT leave it hooked for more that two or three seconds! ! ! ! When you crank, the wire from the solinoid comes into play and IDEAL voltage to the coil is 10 volts with crank load. Not too often but ideal. HAHA Jeff
