I was tryin' out my Super M and newly acquired plough, and on the last pass heard a change in the engine sound, alot of blow-by had started and noticed my oil presure was very low. Shut her down and checked the oil. I pulled the dip-stick and oil came spraying out. It had about 3 gallons in the pan. When I put my discs on last week, noticed my hydralics wouldn't lift so I put about two gallons of hy-tran in the tank. Well it didn't stay there...(at least it wasn't antifreeze.) This M has the pump in front of the distributer, is there a seal that can be easily replaced between the pump and the housing or am I going to be looking at a pump o/h?

Years ago IH offered an overhaul kit for these, then they offered a factory rebuildt pump. The last time I checked only new was availble. around 800 bucks. If you have a good bearing store you probably can just buy the seal, Note I have found a metric shaft in a 54 super H

It has an o ring (at least my Super H does) easy repair unless the shaft has a groove in it. I don't think a speedy sleeve to cover the groove will work in that application unless you do some machining. There is a repair kit with other gaskets, seals, etc that you should get.
