the coil is right above the distributor, right? (1952 super C)

If it by chance has a WICO magneto on it, the coil is inside. On this type there is no center post on the distributor cap, only the 4 posts going to the spark plugs.

are you looking for a coil or magneeto? Follow the center wire on the dist. cap and it will lead you to it if its there. Should be close.
