I have a 1950 Farmall M and just took it apart to put new brakes on it an had oil all over the brake. So I took the brake drum off and pulled the seal but it looks like the bearing right behind the brake drum is bad. The outside carrier is broke on the side of the bearing holding the balls in place. How hard is it to change this bearing. Does anyone know the name for the bearing or part # or price? I have to get my field ready for beans and it is my only tractor big enough to pull the disc. Thank you

I call it the outer brake shaft bearing. you will need to remove the bull gear on that side then the brake shaft will pull out. Don't know what they cost but from IH 40 bucks is my guess

Can I get the bull gear out just by taking the bolts off the casting right behind the brake drum or is it more involved? Thanks
