Hi guys,

Things are just working out good for me today.

I bought this tractor from a good ole boy over in Iowa. Bought it for my wife for her aniversary present.....Hmmmmm, more on that later.

Anyway, I stopped at the local trucking outfit on the way into town to see if he might "accidently" happen to have a flatbed over in Iowa; the tractor is 644 miles from me.

It turns out he has one unloading 40 miles from the tractor this afternoon and needs something to haul back! He's charging me less than a dollar a mile to deliver the tractor.

I then had to rush home to wire the tractor payment to the seller before the truck got to his place.

Today is a good day.

I would like more details on this fine machine. What is it - can not make out the numbers. What engine.

Oh sure,

I was afraid you would want all the gory details.

It is that 1980 686D with the German 310 that was advertised on the photo ads here a couple of weeks ago. The one that has the T/A stuck up in the high range and it's the one that has more hours on it than the ship "HMS Bounty".

I always try to do things the wrong way, so I just bought it sight unseen after talking at length with the owner.

There was just something about that old tractor that I liked. Probably those oversized rear tires.

Love those old red tractors; and besides, they keep me out of the wife's hair.
