I am about ready to replace the tires on my 300 Farmall and have been shopping around. I am putting on 12.4X38. I have narrowed it down to the following tires:

Titan Hi Power Lug or Firestone Field & Road

Both are about equal in cost with the Titan's being only slightly cheaper. The only thing I am worried about with the Firestones is the 23 degree bar. I am worried about the ride on hard pavement. Do these feel choppy like riding on paddles? Please help.

Thanks,
Brian Schmidt

I do some of both. I am mainly interested in shows that plowing though. So I am more on the working side.

Brian-

I've got a set of 4 year old Titans on my JD 70. I don't use this tractor for anything but parades, shows and and occasional club plow day. While I have no fault with the Titan's traction, they are already showing some cracking and checking and the tractor is stictly barn kept.

I have Firestone Field and Roads on four other tractors and I like them a lot. (Two have 12.4-38's, 1 has 11.2-36 and one has 12.4-28) I'm not saying I'll never buy Titans again but I think the Firestones are hard to beat.

The 45 degree treads will work better on hillsides, but the 28 degree will pull better on the flat.

I really like the firestone field and road tires. They pull good, and they last a long time. If you drive a tractor down the road, a lot of tires you can see the wear. The firestones dont seem to wear nearly as much on the road. I never noticed them to ride rough on the road. I have some older goodyears (some kind of 45 degree multi angle lug) on one of my tractors and i notice that they do ride rough on the road. My vote is for the firestones.
