I recently bought a 450 with the three hydraulic levers to the right of the dash. The center spool only works one direction. Can anyone gice me any insight on this before I tear it apart? The hydraulics seem to work real well and lifts the loader just fine but will only move the bucket one way because of this. I took off one side of the hood and can see that the linkage is hooked up. Thank You, Harlen

You guys are awesome. One little turn and problem solved. The hood has a slot in the side just big enough to put a wrench on and give it a turn. This saved me what I thought was gonna be a lot of work and expense. Thanks much!! Harlen

On my 450 the valve control to select one or two way action sticks up through the sheet metal. It may turn hard if it has not been moved in several years.

Those valves can be set for either a 2 way cylinder or a single action cylinder. One top of the valve (under the hood) will be a knob that can be turned to select single or double action cylinders. Sounds like your's is set for a single action cylinder.

Just went out and checked my 400 which is apart to install power steering. Looking at the valves from the top, the nuts are in the counterclockwise position. I know that all three of mine are set for double acting cylinders.

Don't know much about 100/150 hydraulics, but... sure sounds like the spool valve one-way and two-way selection is indexed for one way only. Now, if you're problem was with a -60 series, I'd bet my bottom dollar on it.

Look at your spools (exterior). If they're like a 60 series, the exposed ends of the spools will have flats on them for turning the spools with a wrench to select one-way or two-way cylinder operation. Roll pins and keeper spring clips index the spools to the proper selection. The positions are marked "D" and "S" (double/single).

Some 100/150 series dudes will have to weigh in on this. I the meantime, check this out.
