Got my SA running today. I have the timing right on, the valves don't seem stuck, holds 75 psi compression accross the board, and the carb works well. BUT it pops irregularly out the carb, and I think it is just in one cylinder. When it idles, it is fine, but as soon as I rev it up, it just can't do it, and begins to pop...any thought or suggestions? I really don't want to pull the head....It would run just about perfectly if I could fix this..... .thanks.....AC

Make sure all your exhaust valves are opening, could be a lobe off of the cam, and the exhaust is trying to exit threw carb side. just something to check.

Are you sure you don't have a sticky valve? Not actually stuck and works fine when you turn it over at idle speed but just can't keep up at higher RPM. I don't know how you could check. Hope this helps, SAm in NS

Have you tried new plugs? Are you showing 34deg advance at full throttle. Have you changed over to 12v and are not using the rite coil? These are just a few things that could be wrong.
