How do you remove the rear seal lower retainer plate to replace the 3rd. main bearing? What do you use to seal the plate with when reinstalling? thanks

Don't quote me but a friend just did that job on his 340Gas (C135 engine), and had to split the tractor to get the rear main bearing out. There may be another trick to the job without splitting the tractor but, he couldn't figure it out. As far as putting the plate back on, use what ever the manual calls for.

Farmer Bob as best I can tell you're exactly right. According to the picture in the manual it is no way to replace the rear bearing without breaking the tractor in half. Thanks!!!
