Today I got around to starting work on my M and while moving the tank around it sounded like something was inside. I got a flashlight and looked and can see a piece of metal inside that looks too big to have been put in through the fill hole. My question is do the farmall tanks have a baffle in them? Thanks. Tom

Thanks men. No telling how long it has laid in the bottom of tank so it should not hurt a thing. Tom

I believe there are two baffles, one is fastened to the top of the tank and the other is attached to the lower half they stick up and down about an inch apart horizontally. This is one reason it is so hard to get the crud out of an old tank back behind those baffles.
