When I was a tot the first tractors I remember were Dads 460 gas and the M. Some how he decided he needed a difrent tractor and traded the M for a 3010 which turned out to be a guttless wonder compaired to both the M and 460.
My uncle had overhauled that M while dad was away at ISU, (pop wouldn't have done it) With a big bore kit and high compresion pistons what might be a reasonable HP estimite?
PS 3010 lasted only a year and was replace with a 706 gasser.

I have done up a couple of M's for some around here and with the kits and changing the dist advance curve and a light jet reaming up to 60 hp., then there is Vernons S/MTA with the high alt. pistons at 4 1/8 with a 450 head and manifold and a littel of this and that done to it and she is doing 92 hp.and will run the donkey off a good 706. It will run all day pullen the 4340 3x16 oilalover plows in third and never even need to pull the T/A back.

Tractor Vet, with only 281 cu and a 450 gas head you would have to have a lot of this and that to make 92 HP. Our Super M with the same set up will dyno 65 hp. 92 hp I would have to see.

Kev. I use to get 50 HP out of the M's with just putting in fire crator pistons, gas head, manifold, if needed, little more rpm's.
