Hy-Tran in Super M transmission?

I was wondering if you could use Case IH Hy-Tran in the Super M transmission for the hydraulics and transmission. I know they normally say the 90wt gear oil, but I was wondering. I have heard of hy-tran in M's and stuff, but didn't know if that was a good thing or not, and now I need to put some in mine. Thanks.

There is no advantage to hytran in any M style tractor older than the SMTA. Just use 90W -- fewer leaks.

Tim if your are talking SM I would stay with the 90 in the tranny, you could use hy tran in the hydraulic's, if you are talking SMTA then hy tran in the tranny.

CIH service manager said if seals were good I could use Hy-Tran. This was in an old M and a 300. And about ten years ago.

I was told if yoy rebuilt your rearend and put newer type rubber seals in hy-tran is ok but our tractors came with leather seals and they leak to much without 90 wt.

What ever works I guess. I never had any leaks using Hy-Tran. I bought the tractor used and it seemed it had never been worked hard or abused. I used it for loader tractor. Set it under an F-10 Farmhand cable loader.
