Blush Hog and an H

I want to use a bush hog on a small plot with my H, mostly for the fun of it cutting a small pasture. I know the H does not have live power and that you need an overrunning clutch. Where would the clutch mount, or is it part of a drive shaft assembly. Also if you want to back up do you have to let the cutter stop turning before going into reverse or just be sure tractor is stopped?

Thanks Bill

As stated,the over run clutch will mount on the pto shaft,somewhere like Tractor Supply carries them,but be sure to get the right one for your shaft,they did at one time carry the ones for the smaller shafts.I have found that on my H,with the OVR I can shift into any gear including reverse,I still have to push in the clutch as normal and it will shift into another gear,but I still have to let the bushhog slow a bit,maybe 2 seconds or so.On my M i could shift into anoither gear and not have to wait.

Actually, you can shift into reverse or ANY other gear once the brush hog has stopped turning. You'll really grind gears otherwise. Cmore

Bill Perry;

The ORC moounts to the PTO shaft unless there is one already on the bushhog. You can shift gears as long as the tractor is stopped.
