I went to a tractor dealer and they had a restored W-6 it was mint. they had decals you rub on and you peal the plastic off and there would be no clear plastic like the decals you can get from your local tractor supply co. Do you know where to get them for a farmall H and what the cost would be.

His question had already been answered. Guy merely said that the other type is what came on the tractors, implying that if you want originality you should use the ones with the film between the letters.

What's the big deal about clear plastic between the letters? That's what the original decals were.

Guy,

I'm not so sure. For one thing, when my '39 Farmall A was built, there was no such thing as clear plastic film such as the current production decals are printed on (Mylar, actually). As far as I'm aware, IH used waterslide decals throughout production, at least until the 1960s when things like plastics became widely available.

When IH put decals on, they were just that: decals. Not stickers. What we buy today in the aftermarket world are strictly speaking stickers, not decals.

I'd give my right arm for an actual set of waterslide decals for my A...

I know whereof I speak, having made my living doing artwork for waterslide decals for model aircraft for many years now..

Guy, this is one area where I will deviate from the original specs. I don't like trying to get all the bubbles out, etc. Some can do it, but it's too easy to screw up. Also as the decals age, that film becomes more and more obvious. IMO the vinyl cut simply look better. To each his own.
