Im starting to see the light... a dim light at end of the tunnel. My engine is going back together. I am wondering if the valve guides can be removed from the head or not. If they can how to you reomove them? Ive got one that is rusted off on the end and Im down to only one head left. Im on my second one, first one was rusted through. Thanks in advance for any help.

You can press them out with a hydraulic press too,if you have access to one.The guides that are crusty will start breaking apart no matter what method you try.I made a tool from a piece of bar stock about 10" long, smaller than the O.D. of the guide, drilled in one end with a short piece of an old valve stem for a guide pin. Worked great!

On the F-20 head I'm currently working on I just drove the old guides out with a hammer and a brass drift.
