Can anyone help me with how to tighten the belts on my (H)

If the pulley is badly worn, it may not tighten. The "V" on my pulley was worn to where it was more of a "U" and wouldn't squeeze the belt to the outer diameter.
I hope yours is not worn and will adjust as advertized.

What the others said,but after the first tightening start it up and run it a minute or two then retighten again.

Yes, your main pulley is two piece, it's threaded, so you have to loosen the lock nut on the square headed set screw, unscrew it, and that will allow you you tighten up the pulley by screwing the front half against the rear half. You may need to tap with a brass punch and hammer, be careful you don't tap too hard, they can break, don't ask me how I know. Then reinstall the set screw and lock the nut.

there is a set screw with a jam nut that needs to be loosen, on the side of the housing, then on on the two flat surfaces there is a place for a blunt object to kinda hammer on that pulls the pully togeather, then re tighten the jam nut, there is a real tool for the inside but not sure if you have it. I think i explained it right
