Hello, My '51 Super A goes to skipping and sounding like a 2cyl JD when theres a load on the engine and has no power, what could be the cause of this?, could the plugs be getting bad?, it runs fine when there is no load on the engine.
thanks in advance.

One bad plug wire can cause that problem.

When was the last time it was tuned up, if its been a year or more it could be plugs, points, rotor, condenser or cap or all of them, it could even be a clooged carb.

I don't know when was the last time it has been tuned up. The tractor doesn't see all that much use, but I'm thinking it's problably the plugs because it had been running fine, until about last fall. I'll have to try some new plugs and see.

It could also be the cap and rotor
