Can someone tell me the correct color shades that are used on the White grills and Silver? on the rims? I have a AV, Super A, Model 100, and a Model 300. The years of the tractors range form 1947 to 1956, did the color shades of Red, White, and Silver change during this time period?

Thanks,
Glen

You can use what the others recommend. As mentioned none of your tractors came with a white grille. The white started with the 130, 230, 350, and 450. The rims were galvanized on your early ones, by 1956 the rims were probably painted, but the rims were manufactured by an outside supplier, and even when originally painted, there was no official color, as IH only specified rust protection, not color. So it is some shade of silver argent.

We use Case/IH paint. The red is IH 2150 and on wheels it's B17565 Silver/Argent.

These tractors should not have white grills. White grills came out on the 350, 130, 230 etc.

The white grilles and such were Harvester White...which was kind of an off-white, maybe an ivory. When dad painted one at the ol' Farmall garage, he used geniune IH paint...that way, the color ALWAYS matched. As far as the rims, he just used the common aluminum silver...nothing too special about it, as far as I knew. And Dad was a stickler about getting it right.
