I went and looked at a 1947 H today and drove it a bit. In 4th gear the tranny makes a noise. Maybe a bad gear?? Is this something to be really concerned about or not. If so, how bad is it to fix? The rest of the tractor is pretty rusty. The engine has a miss, and the radiator has a little bit of a leak. Ok rubber, they all hold air. I offered $500, is this reasonable?? Thanks for all your help.

If the tractor runs, drives, and the tires are useable, $500 is not a bad offer.

500 sounds like a large plenty. We ran a M for years with a noise in 4th gear. New radiator will cost you $275 don't know about the "miss"
