Is it a decent tractor, any weak points? Retiring neighbor is looking to sell his, no price yet, what value range would it fall into. Wide front. Thanks, all opinions welcome.

Dan,

I used to have both a gas and a diesel 560. Both very good tractors for the years they were made. Strong points of the diesel: Very fuel efficient, plenty of power, lots of used parts still around. Weak points: The diesel is a very hard starter in cold weather, they have a tendency to blow head gaskets and sometimes the head cracks. Price wise: Here in Wisconsin you can find a real good one at an auction for $2,500 to $3,000, sometimes less.

Depends on what you want to use it for. If you are hobby farming and showing it, it would be fine. If you are going to put it to hard work, look elsewhere. These tractors were way overpowered for their drivetrain.
