On the electrical switch (charge rate, lights, etc.) there is a little resistor with a coil winding. I assume it is nbeccesary. Mine has a break in the winding. does anyone know what its for and what it is called, and where I can get a replacement.

Thanks
take Care
Steve

It is a 2.8 Ohm wire wound resistor used to regulate generator output. If you have a cutout relay on your BN there will be another one under the cover that's used for the same purpose when there are no lights on the tractor. It is longer and you will have to be creative to make it fit. I have one of the correct ones I will part with, email me offline.

Sounds like the resistor for the High/Low generator output. If I remember right it's kinda flat. The double round one is the High/Low headlight resistor. My book shows part number 47891. Don't know if the IH dealer can get them or not. Dave.
