Hi I have just started using this web site alot and would like to put this out there. I am taking over a high school ag program and we are purchasing a farmall super C for a project and fundraiser. This tractor will be raffled off on the schools homecoming and we were wondering what do you think a good price for the tickets are? $5,$10, more? we are trying to only sell 2000-2500 tickets and would like to be able to profit from this. THis will run and look like a show tractor when we are finished.

Would there be an interest of people on here that might be live in or around iowa that would like to purchase tickets?

Just wondering thanks matt

Our Lake Region Pioneer Threshing show (51 years & going strong) raffles a tractor each year. We charge $1 and usually sell 7-8,000 tickets.
Our feeling is that more people will buy a $1 ticket than a $5 or $20. Depends on the economy in your area.
Be sure to check your state laws for a possible gambling permit requirement.
As a former FFA member I would like to support your cause; please let me know what you are going to charge & where to send the $. I would like to have a matching Super C for the one I have now!!
Good Luck.

Wayne has a good point make sure it's legal, when you advertise it sometimes attracts the revenuers! Don't know if it is an Iowa gambling rule but you can't "discount" raffle tickets everyone has to have the same value/cost. The very common $1 each or 6 for $ 5 is not permitted. It is worth the effort to be legal instead of risking the loss of all the proceeds or worse. good Luck with your venture. Dick Davis

I don't think the same gambling rules apply to non-profit or not-for-profit ventures. This is a fundraiser for a school or a school-sponsored club.

Our tractor club raffles off a tractor each year at our annual show. We sell tickets all through the year and the drawing is the last day of the show. We sell tickets at $1 each, or 6 for $5. Might be better to just sell tickets at $5 to avoid so much writing out of info on the tickets.

I DON'T LIVE IN IOWA, BUT I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN BUYING A TICKET. I LIVE IN VT BUT AM SURE I COULD FIGURE OUT A WAY TO TRUCK IT HERE. IF I WERE YOU, I'D CONSIDER FEWER TICKETS BUT MORE MONEY PER TICKET. I THINK IF YOU INCREASE A PERSONS ODD OF WINNING THEY MIGHT BE MORE INTERESTED IN BUYING A TICKET. MAYBE 1000 TICKETS AT $20.00 EACH
