OK here is the scenario...I have been rehabing this tractor all winter getting here ready to work...now I am back to the hitch...I have replaced the parts that I could find and now I have a question. Previous owner took off traction control lever and modified antisway bars which by the way was totally "rigged" so that up and down movment was compromised. I fixed the the antisway setup and everything moves freely. Here is the question?? When you pull a load on the hitch it moves back..I understand it should move some. Up front where the hitch mounts to the belly and has a ball joint hanging in a traingular metal stopper...this traingular stop hits against the belly of the tranny housing....in reverse there is an 1 inch mount plate that stops the direct contact with the housing..which I can see being ok. When you pull something the stop just slams up against the belly...that can't be good can it?? Was it designed this way or should I pin it to stop all forward and backward movement.
Any advice would be helpful.
