Farmall Super A originality question

I'm in the midst of tearing down my Super A for restoration and I've run across three screws with flathead type heads on them securing the brake and clutch pedal guard. Seems a bit odd as the other two of the five bolts securing this part were hex type. Is this original or something that has been added? Every thing else has been secured with hex type bolts except for the wheel weights which have a square bolt secured by a hex nut. Forgive me for being anal about this but this is my first tractor and I am still learning.

Kevin, The slotted stove bolts holding your pedal guard from the top of the operator platform is correct. They were used in that case to make the platform more uniform and lessen the protruding obsticles the operator had to contend with.

The flat headed slot top bolts are correct.

They are used to keep the floor board as smooth as possible.

The parts book says two 5/16-18NC 1/2" hex head cap screws and three 5/16-18NC 1/2" slotted screws.

Kevin, I have had several of the cultivision tractors (A, SA, B, BN) and just about all of them had the type of screws you are talking about securing the pedal cover on them. The only ones that didn't have them had obviously been changed because they didn't even match each other! My experience tells me that you have original fasteners!
