I'm in need of three head bolts (studs). I actually need the short ones, but the long ones will work.
Thanks,
Dan

correct me if I am wrong guys but what would be wrong with buying some grade 8 studs for a dollar or so each ? The end that screws into the block are a fine thread and the nut end on top of the head is a course thread, the worse thing you could have to do is buy the nuts too.

CNKS, I don't know where you get your Case IH parts, but I work in parts at a Case IH dealer and they are no longer available from Case IH as well as the Depot and DPNI. If you have a source or different part number, I would appreiate any info.
Thanks
Dan

CNKS, I just bought one from the Case-IH dealer in Menomonie, WI two weeks ago. The price was $7.31 each. Roger

Case-IH has them, they are expensive, you might try Bates Corp. IMO it is not a good idea to use used ones off someone else's tractor, as they stretch, and you don't know how many times they have been tightened. That said, I haven't replaced any of mine when I worked on the heads.

So what it they stretch! The torque is the important measurement.

My understanding is that they could break later, or perhaps result in leaks. More than one opinion on this.
