O.K., awhile back I asked ya'll about that scam that the person is willing to send double the price of the tractor, and you are supposed to send the remainder back to them, or there "shippers"...any way, I doubted if those cashiers checks would ever come, but little did I know that one of them has,I took it to my bank, and guess what it was legit, or at least for know, I figured that I would keep the cash for awhile, then if everything clears , I will get in direct contact with them...whats your thoughts, any body ever taken it this far???...-Scoob

Hey Scoob, you did exactly what I was trying to do.I had planned to sit on the cash for a couple months, till it had cleared the other dudes bank and my banker could verify that. I didn't want to steal their money ,I just wanted to hold it for a while and make em squirm. Like everybody else says, hold on to the cash the bank is going to want it back! Put it in your savings and draw interest on it while you have it,.

I played e-tag with some priest from Manchester UK about a 300 dollar disk; he wanted to send me acheck for 3300, then send the rest to the shipper, yadayada. I finally offered to donate the disk to him to help defray the expenses of such a rightous do-good group. Haven't heard since.

One more comment, it would be wise for everyone to just delete these con e-mails and not follow thru in any way with wise cracks or anything else. Thes cons have lists of thousands of e-mail addresses. They don't know which ones are valid or not. Don't validate yourself by responding.

Just remember : those cons are well educated & suckers are born everyday . Why people in America are so nieve to this act of fraud is beyond me . As if Americans don't get screwed enough by fellow Americans ; we let outsiders do it too . Good luck ! I had a foreigner call me the other day 3 times wanting my Fax number . I asked why he wanted it & he said because he needed a fax number so he could do a transaction in America . Now you can bet I responded - yep I responded . Click !! Suckers beware !

i recently sent a part to canada from iowa and the check he gave me took almost 3 weeks to clear,so if you do go thru with it i'd be hanging on to that money for some time,as when it does fall thru and it will the banks gonna want their money back

The check must clear all the way back to the originating bank. May take a month or more.
Did you explain your concern about this check to your bank? The bank will be coming after you to recover if it falls thru. Give your bank a heads up ASAP if you haven't already.

Better hang onto that money for a long time. The check has to clear the bank it was issued/drawn from. Thats where the trouble starts.

Yep, and it's problably being drawn on a non existant foreign bank. I have heard an awful lot about these scams. I wouldn't give them a penny until the check had fully cleared. I'd get in contact with your bank and ask them when they could be positive the check was good.
Be Careful!!
