Brooks: My question is how long did EA Johnston continue to work at IH. I see according to the Wendel book 150 Years of IH, he would have been 24 years old in 1900. I guess also I am curious to how old a man he lived to be. I remember the dealer at Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada, Owen Parker speak of meeting Johnston. Owen was probably in the business with his dad by the late 30s. I know my dad bought his 1942 W4 from Owen. Owen also sold me my 1066 in 1975. Owen died not long after that, but not an exceptionally old man.

Does anyone know how old Brooks is? He ran the UK division in the early fifties. It probably wasn't his first job out of college.

He must be fairly sprightly considering he wants a 300-350D and didn't specify power steering.

I don't know how old Brooks is, but his father, Chauncey Brooks McCormick (nephew of Cyrus), lived from 1884-1925, according to some McCormick family tree I read. Chauncey married Marion Deering (1886-1965) (grand-daughter of old William Deering) and Brooks was born. If Chauncey was 41 when he died, Brooks would have to be AT LEAST 79, though probably older. Maybe Brooks can clear this all up and tell me if my info. is correct. P.S. Talk about a family tree: McCormick-Deering!
