The mounting plates for the fenders block the grease zerks at the end of the axle. Are the seal retainer plates symmetrical - can I just turn them 90 degrees and point the zerks to the back ?

Why do you suppose that anyone would go to all the trouble of making fenders and mounting brackets and not check to see that the holes line up ? Luckily it was the holes in the fender that were off. They missed by a quarter inch.

Riverbend,

I had the same problem as you with the extension mounting plate covering the original zerk. Napa sells zerks that have the fitting mounted about 45 degrees off, which will allow you to grease the rear bearings. They work pretty slick. HTH Larry
