Hi all,

I need to sell my 1940 Farmall B to finance another tractor purchase.

It's in good shape and runs well. I've been using it for the last 3 years to mow my 5 acres.

Paint is fair, has hand crank start only, rubber is less than fair on the rear (lots of cracks and checks) and good on the single front wheel.

Any idea what it's worth?

I live in Central Arizona (Prescott area)

thanks,
Duane

Only you know how much you have in it, and how much you need to get out of it.. do some comparison on the 'wantads'

I just purchased a 1940 B for $250. The rubber is BAD, sheet metal is ROUGH, and it had been sitting for over 20 years. It started right up with a new set of plugs, plug wires, and oil, but it's a long way from being field ready.

It's really hard to accurately give even a ballpark figure on a tractor from the other side of the country, but, if I were looking for a running B, without electric start & poor tires on the rear, at an auction in my neck of the woods (PA.), I would expect to pay from $700 to $1400. Maybe a little more if it was exceptional, maybe a little less if it was rough. Add some if a mower comes with it.
Looks & location are big factors. If somebody is bidding on a tractor that has sentimental value to them, all that goes out the window.
Others may see it differently.
