1948 Cub has J4 magneto and I need to find the best type/model distributor to replace it with.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Unless you don't like the appearance, you can add an external coil to the mag setup and rewire it using the mag distributor with the coil. Just run a hot lead through a switch to the coil and from the coil to the kill terminal on the side of the mag distributor.

Don't forget to disconnect the internal wire from the points to the mag coil. You only get one guess as to why I remeber that.
