I bought another Regular yesterday that has something I have never seen before. It has the steering gears enclosed in a cast gearbox. It is NOT a gearbox off an F20 and appears to be an aftermarket setup. Anybody ever see one of these?

Nebraska Cowman, I have a old parts book that shows the "Acme Enclosed Worm Steering Assembly" that was built for the Farmall Regular by G & G Manufacturing Company in Omaha,Nebraska. It shows one piece that clamps on upper bolster and top cast piece bolted on with what looks like 4 bolts. This looks a lot smaller than any of the differant F-20 steering gears.

My neighbor has an F-20 Serial" 747 all three places match. This tractor has what they called duckbill steering. Are you familiar with these.

Cowman-If it is 2 piece cast-iron cover that you put around the left and right side of the gears and bolt together, Then I know of a set. Don't know who made it or really what the purpose would have been other than to make it harder to grease? Was wondering how many of those were out there!

I have not got the tractor home yet or been able to measure it but it looks too small for the original gears. When I get it later this week I can post a pic
