Sale coming up with a 706 german diesel listed. What was this tractor rated at HP and was this a good tractor. Just going to use it to pull planter and cultivate corn. Thanks

A 706 with the D310 had 76 pto hp.

That is a great tractor..... ..We have a D282 706 and the neighbors have a 756 with a "Kraut Power" under the hood. That 310 is a great engine, stingy on fuel, and runs hard in the field. We tried to find a late 706 with a 310 but settled for the 282 since they are usually cheaper(But less powerful). Once you have one you'll love it!

I have never driven one, but the 06 series is what got IH back on the right track after the 560 debacle. 73 HP, should be an excellent tractor for what you want to use it for. Have heard engine parts are expensive. (What isn't?)

Bought my 706 Ger.Diesel used. Had just over 7000 hrs on it when I retired and sold it. Did not do any engine work other then adjust the valves. 4-16,s were an easy pull and it would handle a 14 ft.Heston swather at 5 mph in heavy hay.

Yes,they are a good tractor.
