I just had the new valves on my H replaced and ground. The machine shop told me they had a difficult time finding the exhaust valves. The local IH dealer did some cross checking and told them the head was for kerosene. Is this going to work properly for gasolene?

I would guess that about half of the H Farmalls still running are using the kerosene head, and those tractors have been using gasoline for a very long time now. Like John said, slightly less horsepower, but for general use, you will never know the difference.

The only difference between a kerosene engine and a gas engine was the head, manifold and carburetor. The kerosene head had lower compresion but will run fine but will make a couple less horsepower. unless you're going to compete in pulls you will probably never know the difference.
