I am looking at a demo cub I think. It has a whit paint under two coats of red paint. Also I think that it is a late 1949 to be on for the delars for the 50's the serial number is #93584. I also hrd that white cubs had a L on the tork tube and the other cubs didn't. Can someone help me I dont want to spend all this money and find out it is not a demo.

Bigdog gave the correct serial #'s. The L on the torque tube and other castings means they were cast at Louisville, KY -- they all were. All IH did when they produced the white demo's was change the color of the paint and add some cardboard cutouts. According to the serial number yours is not a demo. As the other post said you shouldn't spend "all that money" anyway. The tractor is not restored, thus even if it is a white demo (and those of us who think we know the serial numbers are wrong, not likely!) it's not worth significantly more than any other Cub in the same condition.

I don't think I would pay more for a white demo cub than any other cub unless maybe, more likely not even, if it had original paint. Certainly not if it's two coats red over white. You will just have a cub you painted white. Cub prices are high as it is. Just my take. Others may vary.

The white demo cubs are believed to be serial numbers 99536-106517.
