NEEDLE VALVE REPLACEMENT???????????

Someone posted about using a teflon coated type needle valve in place of the steel valve that is standard for the Zenith carb. If I remember right it was from a carb for a small engine like a Kolher or Ohan etc.

I think that I have seen this valve before but can't remember where and I would like to try one if I knew where to look for one.

Any help would be appreciated.

THANKS

For the IH carburetor on the Cub, there is a Holley needle that can be modified to fit. That same needle was too large diameter to fit a Zenith on an Allis. There is a Kohler needle that also fits the Cub carburetor. I know the above to be fact. In the absence of other information, I assume that the needle size is the same on all Zenith. So the likely conclusion is that the Kohler needle would not work with the Zenith. But this conclusion is conjecture on my part.

John,
If I can I just look in the carb rebuild package at a parts store to see if it has the black rubber tip (believe it's actually viton), or ask the parts guy for the rubber (or viton) tipped valve. The story I get is that some people love em, some hate em. Standard YMMV situation ;) I always ask for them and have good luck with them. The last several I bought were from a TISCO dealer (complete carb kits) and the IH dealer (just needle and seat), both did have the viton tipped valve. But I asked for it each time also.
